Thanks to you, Chris, I'm now sure it's acpi related. When disabling it
completely in grub configuration (acpi=off), the issue is no more. But I'm
pretty certain that's not a good thing to do !
But options you gave me
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash acpi_os_name=Linux acpi_osi=vendor
Have you checked Displays in the System settings? You can turn off the
mirroring there. I have two monitors and that solved the problem.
Sorry, I posted this on Trisquel-users instead of Trisquel-usuarios
(spanish). Is there a way to change the post to the convenient list?
Hola,
He intentado varios métodos y no
Sorry, you have to copy and paste your text and make a new post with that in
Trisquel-usuarios.
What can I use instead? (It must run on both Gnu/Linux and Windows)
Does anyone know a free softare alternitive to TrueCrypt that also
runs on Windows? (portable)
Depends what you're using it for. Encrypted drive? Or just transferring
a few files? GnuPG has a portable version that runs on
Installation on real hardware went smooth, autologin feature after reboot

Yeah I have. The checkbox for mirroring is unchecked and faded out, it only
shows one monitor, and the detect dispays button does nothing.
Tried to run 'xrandr' in a terminal? It should show all available displays.
Hello guys. How can i add more wallpapers? I see, trisquel changes
automaticaly, so, where are the system folder?
If you are using Gnome, right-click on the desktop and select change desktop
background. There you can add your own wallpapers if you want or change to a
different existing one.
The default system wallpapers can be found in /usr/share/backgrounds
I see. So, the background change every day. How can i alternate the
frequency?
I'm not going to fight it (they can do what they like) I'm just going to stop
using Firefox. It's been on my to do list since they started talking about
introducing ads, and alarm bells had been ringing already before that.
I know they won't care if they lose one user, but I don't care
What kind of a video card?
Are you running the latest kernel and x?
https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/installing-latest-backported-kernel-and-xserver
Me too, two days ago i was using Ubuntu, but, the story about firefox and
adobe and the loss of identity at the ubuntu project. So today i install the
trisquel and i'm using now. It's so good! Is clean and simple and most fast.
I really like it.
Thank you, is there a way to ''erase'' this post?
Shipping a laptop to Brazil is probably not an option for anybody due to a
60% duty, but I've been told Brazilian Portuguese may work for some people
outside of Brazil and so we have a few.
The one that I know there should be demand for is the Spanish keyboard
layout.
If you've been
@lembas the video card is a Intel® HD Graphics 4600 (the laptop is Think
Penguin Snares). Updating X did it! Thanks so much, it works perfectly now.
The problem is doing nothing means we end up with no good options. It won't
matter if you don't use Firefox, IE, or Chrome. It still has a negative
impact because more sites will adopt this new standard knowing that all of
the important browsers have adopted it. Your non-ie-firefox-chrome
I have no idea. I have never witnessed a behavior like this. Are you sure you
are not using an application which does this for you?
To be fair, Flash was adopted because there wasn't a better (in terms of
practicality) alternative for streaming video at all, not because of the
digital restriction feature. Videos that aren't from big producers probably
won't be affected by EME, and I'm sure video sharing sites like
Even the sandbox isn't free (or even open source) software. The CDM checks
the integrity of the sandbox, so you can't modify it. Even the open source
definition says that people need to be able to experiment with and
redistribute modifications.
So despite their claims, the browser itself
Well, there are application that do it. But, i want use the default system. I
try copy some wallpapers to the folder backgrounds with nautilus, but
doens't work. And i don't know how can i change this frequency. But, it's
more important add news backgrounds. How can i add new wallpaper in
Hello I want to find the mbr.bin file bt I can't even find the syslinux
folder.
All browsers will have to adopt it at some point considering they are at the
mercy of the content providers. Heck, Firefox can't play the majority of the
HTML5 video out there since H264, AAC, and MP3 are not enabled by default for
most builds.
Thanks jxself! You are awesome!
Maybe the Chromium browser should be forked/modified to remove any
questionable bits and included into the repos. What was wrong with it besides
unknown licensing?
I'm afraid not.
Glad to hear that, enjoy!
I guess one way would be to make /usr/share/backgrounds a symbolic link to
your wallpaper folder.
You need to be super user to operate in /usr. Use the ln command to make
links.
Trisquel uses isolinux.

Apparently Chromium already has EME support so that does not make it any
better than Firefox in this regard. Chromium also
