as i get an stable job im going to be getting a menbership!
One day, There will be a proprietary software foundation, And a sub-division
called the proprietary hardware/firmware foundation. And the Website for
Microsoft Windows is going to say Free software is often malware.
You should do it, Dual install with Debian if you want. But ultimately, It's
your choice on what Operating System you want on your GNU/Linux rig.
whats it for?
if your recording pc games just use a screen recorder (gtk-recordmydesktop
works fullscreen)
and if its a games console like the snes just use a emulator
According to our current copyright laws, unclear/no info on licenses means
that it's not free. A program is only free when explicitly stated so.
All the GNOME extensions are designed for GNOME Shell. They are redundant on
GNOME Classic/Flashback. Try using GNOME Shell.
Ok. I 've done it. I can select a Desktop Manager of my choice. But now, How
do i change my settings so it asks me to logon first rather than go into the
desktop immideatly after i turn my computer on?
It's also worth noting that the case of people being arrested was
specifically in Denmark:
https://torrentfreak.com/police-arrest-men-for-spreading-popcorn-time-information-150819/
I don't think the copyright system of the U.S. has the power to punish people
for merely talking about Popcorn
also you can just use the trisquel live cd so you don’t even need to
install it
He probably means something like Action Replay for the DS.
Use SimpleScreenRecorder or Open Broadcaster Software.
GNU and its logo are actually registered trademarks.
But for merely mentioning them, you do not need to pay any royalties, like
any other mark.
And by the way, I tested TWM on Debian and it works way better than in
trisquel. maybe Xnomad is the way to go then!
I assumed PyChess was an engine as well- I don't really care about the client
used. I'm happy with GNOME Chess- not really many bells and whistles, but...
it's chess.
See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LightDM#Setting_an_Automatic_Login and remove
those lines instead of adding them.
I'm sorry for the bump but, really noone can help me ? :(
You can do it like this:
sudo cp certificate-name.crt /usr/share/ca-certificates/
sudo dpkg-reconfigure ca-certificates
Just make sure that the certificate has crt extension.
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell gnome-classic
And optionally, for a slightly better experience:
sudo apt-get install gdm
Then when you log in, select GNOME as your session instead of Trisquel.
That will get you into GNOME Shell.
guys i this community has been nice to me more then many of the others
ones i been in - so im probably will get an other rig soon to replace my mom
old 32 rig and i know it going to be thinkpenguin or another zareason
hey if need need be i have friends that can help with the website and im
writing a huge thiing on facebook
Didn't read your post carefully. If you tried to follow the guide you
probably didn't run the commands as root.
To solve this you can prepend sudo to the commands like this:
sudo wget -O /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/autistici-ca.crt
http://autistici.org/static/certs/ca.crt
sudo
@onpon4- please dont say nothing bad about the 64 - it is the best system for
gaming. i cant stand the bogus crude nintendo been doing lately but they
built the system perfectly
it got an built in VNC player
im currently working on a retrp gaming idea for my room to get rid of the
stupid PS3- but i cant find the 3d printer or a place that i can get a 3d
model of an print of an 64
I've been informed that wikia.com can probably handle the load. Never used
it, but if you could copy the contents to an instance maybe that would work?
I don't think it'll take more than two minutes for someone to do.
Right now I'm revamping ThinkPenguin's main page to inform users of the
Thanks guys. Will it break full disk encryption in any way? The key entry
screen I mean.
Also I already installed gnome-shell-extensions and xorg. Selected gdm over
Lightdm when xorg prompted me. Do I need to do anything specific w/ those?
hey get in contact with demandprogress. they can help get the word out way
quicker then me
There is a trademark on Windows, but it's not clear that it is a valid
trademark. Lindows was sued by Microsoft and the defence was desktop windows
pre-dates Microsoft use of windows to describe a windowing
environment/operating environment/system or something like this. Which is
true.
i am going to after i fix my rig- i think im in love with MATE
You too? What do you like about it so far :D
Settings-Universal Access-Seeing. Turn off the screen reader there.

The voice is that of Orca, a bit of software that makes Trisquel more
friendly to blind/ visually impaired users.

In addition to all of the software that could possibly run on them being
proprietary, most dedicated video game systems since the third generation
(starting with the NES) are jails. The Nintendo 64 is not one of the few
exceptions, nor are any of Nintendo's home consoles. Besides, the
Hi users, new gnu/linux user here with a question.
Everything I click on has a robotic voice describing what it is that I have
selected.
Could someone direct me to the right place to where I can disable this
setting?
I'd highly encourage people to post on reddit and hacker news.
I've gone and responded to as many of ill-informed comments as possible. It
looks like many of them have been up-voted. We'll need to keep on top of this
as things develop.
I'm going to try and call into Free Talk Live tonight.
I've got a new link people can link to... though DNS records have to
propagate still... could be a few hours before this works.
www.savewifi.org links to a cached version of the LibrePlanet wiki which
contains the information for users on how to send comments in with the FCC

I sent an email to the [GNU]Linux Linux Tech Show... I think it might have
died off in 2005... but I knew the founders in a prior life so I'd thought
I'd reach out to them to see if they'd be interested in doing an interview
with me on the issue.
I'm also in contact with the Slashdot TV.
Why not just get a USB controller for it and download an emulator?
because man it not the same to me like it use be- i went through a phase and
i am done with consoles but i got a soft spot for the 64
You really shouldn't grab a certificate over an unencrypted connection then
add it to system-wide.
Congratulations! Good luck with Trisquel.
I believe you can install mate from the Ubuntu PPA for Trusty. If you're using
Trisquel 7 (which I assume you are) the commands are as follows:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mate-dev/ppa
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mate-dev/trusty-mate
$
Is it really that hard to just get an N64 online? I have serious doubts about
you being able to get an N64 3d-printed, of all things. Try Amazon.
for me man - this is an project i been wanting to do forages- i can get the
two pi and the HDMI hook ups for them but i want it to look like the 64- i
maybe only use for GBA games or even Tux racer and super tux!

found both my community and distro or just the comunity :) my only ? is how
can i install Mate?
Well my issue with the text is on my laptop and my desktop, currently both
have Trisquel. So it can't be a touchpad issue as my desktop doesnt have one.
It's as if every few seconds it scrolls to the top of the page. when I am at
the top of the page and typing in search bars or whatever I am
I don't know what is going on, but it sounds like a user specific issue.
Meaning that there isn't a problem with the distribution or browser. If there
was others would be reporting this as well. Maybe there is a problem with
installation disk or there is some other weird issue with
I don't know about that. But even if it were the greatest system for gaming
in the world when it was released, it certainly isn't now. As I said, the
system is so weak today that any modern PC can emulate it in software.
And if no libre games run on it, which I think is probably the case,
I'm on the fence as to whether or not this a freedom issue.
If it is, there are third-party flash-carts that can run homebrew software,
although there is very little homebrew software for the N64.
I would recommend the Nintendo GameCube over the 64-- the GameCube can run a
large amount of
Great. I was on the air with free talk live. I didn't get much time, but I
did get the site www.savewifi.org mentioned 2-3 times and briefly explained
the issue and told people what they could do to (ie visit the site and follow
the directions on how to comment with the fcc and even
for me the 64 is from my childhood and the games need to go back to that
atyle of gameply-it would be nice to see a linux os into an game console
though- possible to use Debian Repos and play free games or steam.
good - i went on facebook and twitter!
Simple matter: take a computer suitable for playing games and plug it into
your TV. There you go, you've got a video game console, except without the
jail. Just add controllers (and there are a lot of controllers to choose from
-- including most controllers for dedicated video game systems,
for me dude that kinda cover it but not quite
