As philosophically-superior replacement for Chrome, try Iridium:

It's not in the Trisquel repositories, but version 43.8-rc1 has been
evaluated as being free software.
Respectfully, Adonay.
Have a nice day.

i am using libre office but i must use Chrome for the expermental Hmtl5
support for my class. i love Gnu/linux but it is getting really hard for me
to be libre free right now for school but i can download the mp3 files and

guys i just got an job i hope but this job is demanding and i wont be much
into the whole testing phase i been in lately i love trisquel but i need
something more for school - - chrome and ny anime- so i am currently
looking for a distro that can get the job done fast with out hiccups- i
You can try something like this:
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-2226702.html
Haven't tested it personally though.
I am once again reminded of http://files.jxself.org/build.ogv
You're going to hell, all right.
Not because it's supposed to look like Windows, but because it's hideous.
I fear open firmware may cease to exist much sooner, and the lack of
freedom-respecting wifi cards is not as bad as no free cpus... considering
where Intel and AMD are going.
We need to take action
.. this forum's gonna turn into wikipedia..
LOL
Probably I'm going to hell for this theme, but who cares.
Trisquel 7.
Is Trisquel supposed to update automatically (update manager automatically
popping up)?
I was curious since I haven't seen this come up so I updated with the command
line and there was quite a lot to be updated.
Any advice?
We're not there yet. So unfortunately I don't know.
I'm going to bring it up though. Maybe someone can find the contact info or
identify a comment period in other countries/unions. The sooner we identify
it the more likely we'll get the upper hand on the issue.
"i must use Chrome for the expermental Hmtl5 support for my class."
do you have a link to the web page this is required on?
for me it DRM and i am about to be taking the Exam so i am almsot done with
the school - my next goal is the is AWS and Redhat Certs! but i am going to
take the dirct aproach and go to the red hat class that they give- i am very
vocal about it stupid fact the Html5 doesnt work- the funny
There are people working on these issues. Relax! Success or failure will
depend on future fund-raisers and what happens with companies upstream (ie
those designing CPUs and SOCs). The later we can't necessarily fix as the
costs would be exorbitant. However we can design a non-X86 system
here
You might also consider using *someone elses* computer. A school computer for
instance would enable you to complete the class without installing non-free
software. While I personally find the requirement offensive it's a solution.
It looks like all you should need to do is install the User Agent Switcher
and select a recent version of Android. That'll force out a standard HTML5
page according to the message.
* Unless I misinterpreted it
acorrding to the teacher at linux acadmey - they use Chrome due to the Hmtl5
a google thing or somthing like it,=...
ok, just wanted to point out that you really don't need three panels for
this..
One panel is enough.
one big transparent panel with this setting in "items": separator,
whiskermenu,separator,orage,separator,notification area, separator.
Then you expand the second and third separators and
i cant rely contact my MEP if i don’t have any sources
is it possible to let me know what the reliable source is?
i meant a link the the website so that i could look at the source code and
try to figure out why it wont run
it may be possible to get around it
No. Adding to list. If anybody wants to contact them please do!
We need all the help we can get!
Or post contact info... that would help too and I'll send an email.
It is the third time you post about your supposedly free software course
imposing the use of proprietary software. You should heavily complain. Not
only your course does not seem to care about ethics at all but, from what you
tell us, the course looks technically terrible too.

You should ask this question to the author pizzabello..

We don't like google. And we answered to use a search engine. This is a forum
about free software and Trisquel. It's ok to talk about many things here but
if many of us here start posting questions like "what is an IP address",
"what is SSL" or "what is bittorrent" or whatever.. this forum's
just to confirm i was not recommending Google i was just using that as an
example of a worse post
Actually, I don't have an SSD. It might be a bug, yes. I'd love to help, but
I know very little ):
RMS is almost spot on in the clip. We will need to design stuff from the
ground up, but it's going to go beyond just a case and a motherboard. Right
now we don't even have components which we can use and the direction is such
that those who are in a position to design and manufacture said
I'm new to both Trisquel and gnuLinux OSes too. So far I'm liking Trisquel.
But I have a few questions.
How can I create Desktop shortcuts?
The panel taskbar thing. Is there asetting somewhere so I can I stop
currently running programs from stacking on top of each other?

On the subject of forum software, I've heard good things about Discourse:

You could check how often your computer checks for updates. Open up System
Settings, then Software & Updates. Go to the Updates tab and see what
"Automatically check for updates:" is set to.
Definitely!
Unfortunately I don't have a source for the above. Only the Canadian rule
change. However the information itself comes from a reliable source.
Yes- I generally agree here. My point was merely that people shouldn't be
afraid to send in comments. If nobody sends in comments it won't do any good
either.
There are directions at www.savewifi.org
If anybody hasn't been following along *you can do something* right now.
Everybody here should go to www.savewifi.org or the savewifi libreplanet page
(cached due to a ton of traffic crashing libreplanet.org server) and read the
instructions on how to submit a comment to the FCC in
I won't advocate for this at the moment as its self-defeating and thinking
"we can just make our own hardware and smuggle it in" isn't a feasible
option. You need cooperation that we already don't have. If we did we'd have
more free software firmware- or at least leaks of the code. We don't.
I just finished reading a few articles about some truly disgusting stuff
about Reddit (
http://newrisingmedia.com/all/2013/5/22/reddit-racism-an-open-secret.html). I
see the voting system here is similar. While (to my knowledge) having none of
these consequences here, I think it's important

If you have been following the latest kernel and technology in general the

becoming more locked down.

Coupled with http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2015/06/arc-gtk-theme they'll be
perfect for Trisquel 8!

If people can somehow figure out how to smuggle drugs, weapons, and people
into the country I'm sure we can figure out how to smuggle illegal hardware,
too.
Edit the wiki page. Click on 'Format d'éntrée' and choose 'Wiki'.
"Run a modern operating system on 8 GB of RAM? WHICH?"
umm... all of them...
assuming you meant 8MB of ram
you can run a fairly modern gnu/linux distro on less than 8MB of ram
and with older gnu/linux versions you can run it on 2.5mb of ram(i tested
this in a VM)
[Someone asking about
" Are we going to have to start building our own processors, motherboards,
and video cards to keep the dream alive? "
with these new FCC rules you may not be able to make your own hardware unless
you lock it down :(
well its the fact that if you want to make the hardware you must own a very
very expensive factory for doing so
so its not as easy as smuggling drugs
