Just like the ZFS for TrueOS, Oracle Linux, Illumos, Solaris systems under
CDDL that's violated against GPL, which Oracle is hence needed to make an OSE
channel (open source edition) for VirtualBox to be met under the GPL
requirements. VirtualBox has been done to do this but OpenZFS still
I have seen various forum posts on here addressing the issue and nothing has
helped. I disabled IPv6 at the kernel level (because my VPN is IPv4 only), I
added lines to by OpenVPN config file to 'fix' the leak, and still my DNS
leaks behind my VPN. I browsed a number of Ubuntu specific
I think I'll keep doing research on Genode. Trisquel provides me with every
single tool to develop Genode scenarios, so I'll work from there!
99.999% of virtualbox is free software, there has to be a way! I'm not a
programmer, but I'll keep rooting from the sidelines
If possible, replace the Intel WLAN adapter with an Atheros one (no firmware
needed). Otherwise purchase one "ath9k-htc" USB model, whose firmware is free
(as in freedom).
I really know how to enable non-Atheros WLAN adapters (require non-free
firmware) on GNU/Linux distributions with
How about picking a free software project you like and contributing to it?
You will certainly find interesting things to learn along the way. What
exactly depends on the project and its current needs.
When there's no more captcha, I may try a diaspora instance.
Once I had an Acer notebook. I had to first setup a supervisor password
before I could change other security settings including Secure (Restricted)
Boot.

Openwatcom is terrible, I wish that someone would freakin fork Virtualbox's
source code in such a way that openwatcom and any other garbage is no longer
required.
That would be so awesome.
I highly recommend having WinXP disconnected from the internet when possible.

Welcome back, Ali!
Great website with lots of inspiring content. Thank you also for creating

Welcome back
I have installed T8 on two computers. On one I ran 'do-release-upgrade', on
the other I did a fresh install (because 'do-release-upgrade' didn't work).
On the fresh installation, lightning/calendar works with Icedove.
On the one upgraded from T7 I can't get Lightning to work. When searching
Would I would do is have a project in mind FIRST, then install as I go. This
ensures that what you have on your computer truly matches what you are
putting your tools to work for.
Unfortunately, it doesn't.

it seems quitter.se is down...
I just recently discovered that I can install any OS I want through the
virt-manager software. This means that I don't need to switch computers or
partitions just to use one or two features of another OS. However, I am
wondering if there are any security concerns with doing this... For
Thank you loldier. You made my day.

Hi everyone,
It seems we miss some dependancies for playing dvd videos in flidas.
We have the libdvdread4 to run the command
sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh
But it seem I haven't the install-css.sh file in the folder to make it
install.
So the terminal can't find my command.
libvirt + kvm (If your CPU supports it, mine is a Xeon from 2007 and it works
fine)
Best virt for Linux..!! virt-manager makes it easy to setup a VM.
I run 3 VM (Debian, Guix and WinXP (to sync stuff from an old phone) )
You can use an alternative such as KVM, Qemu or XenServer.
Many thanks loldier to your answer, the word fanatics I thought rather of
fun. Yes, I absolutely agree to use a relatively small non-free driver with
the fact that when I do not need it, I will remove it is the ideal solution.
I like how we are called in the Czech Republic "a golden middle
I love virtualbox. It's one of the best learning tools that I've had in my
arsenal for many, many years. It pains me that such a small and seemingly
inconsequential part of virtualbox, OpenWatcom, violates the FSDG. Is there a
project underway to remove it? I don't want to install it on my
Hello, Kescba san. This my question is off-topic. I was thinking that if
other users replied to your posts, then discussion proceeded to some extent,
I was going to post to this thread. I waited. So I think now that I can post
off-topic just this once:)
