I've just installed the Trisquel 6.0 RC3, and am loving it so far. I've
managed to get Unity installed, as that's my preferred DE right now.
My only problem is - I'm not getting the menus come up in the top bar like I
used to in Ubuntu. Is this possible in Trisquel?

can easily modify it to have an e-ink screen rather than an LCD. That, to me,

Regarding Debian - I can see advantages and disadvantages to moving over. The
important ones, as have already been pointed out in this thread, are systemd
vs upstart, Wayland vs Mir, etc.

To be honest, I'm not sure what the solution is - but I think it's pretty
clear that it will become harder and harder to provide a free distro based on

You might be on to something there. But IMO there would have to be a few more
backported packages than just the kernel and some drivers. A web browser, for

PPAs are great, but we don't want users relying on them too much, because

I agree with Trisquel's view that unless/until this is resolved upstream,
Virtualbox should be removed from the repositories. As dudeski said, it is
easy enough for users to grab the deb file straight from Oracle if they so
desire.

Generally, I agree that by distributing a non-free repository, Debian is
non-free.
However, it's the closest out of all the other non-free distros to being
free. It has a deblobbed kernel, and no non-free software can be installed

I'm not sure that's the entire reason. After all, games could implement their
own DRM without the help of an application like Steam, if they wanted to.
I don't know much about Desura, but if it's a viable free alternative to
