I think jxself is a god. We should have named it after him!

Aiming to have had the subsequent Trisquel based on Bionic Beaver is, I
sense, at the same time both over-ambitious and underambitious.
WebTorrent is a new tech which enables streaming of video using torrents. It
is Free software:

(MIT Licence)
There is a dedicated WebTorrent client, which I hope will be the default in a
Trisquel installation, instead of Transmission, which does not support
I think Trisquel 8.0 should be Trisquel 9.0.
Trisquel, if it is to remain in sync with Ubuntu, should follow the current
Ubuntu LTS. Since 8.0 still has not materialized, we should take advantage of
this "opportunity", and re-set to release 8.0 based on Ubuntu 18.04. (Bionic
Beaver?) Why
Trisquel 7.0 is dated now. Trisquel 8.0 is overdue, still unreleased and will
be outdated if it ever is released, as it is based on a Ubuntu LTS which is
soon to be superceded.
I think many people would agree that Ruben doesn't have the time he needs to
continue to maintain Trisquel as it
1) During update of Flidas beta, the kernel is refered to as "linux", which
as we know is non-Free. I think this dialogue ought to be edited so that a
Free kernel is specified, such as "linux-libre". Try: uname -r The response
is (worryingly) 4.4.0-79-generic
2) Flidas should support

Why is the EOMA68-A20 not Libre?
How does Iran factor into this discussion? I believe Iran is not signatory to
international copyright laws. It is quite legal there, I believe, to for
instance download a torrent of an album of music, make it into a CD and sell
it.

I looked at the Alpha of Trisquel today. I tried a simple installation, and
it worked well enough. I will try again, and check if i can find this
functionality.
I hadn't heard of that spin of Arch, btw. Thanks again.
On the topic of installers, a half way between graphical and text based
installer that is particularly user friendly is deployed by Arch-Anywhere:

Is anybody familiar with it?
Ruben has indicated that there will be a graphical installer for Trisquel
8.0. I hope that Calamares could also be considered:

Calamares aims to provide a universal means of installing a variety of
Operating Systems, so that one would not need to keep learning a new

GNU Ring is a Free Teleconferencing application. It already works well on
Trisquel 7.0. Lets ask for official support:

GNU Ring runs well on Trisquel 7.0
Install using the Ubuntu settings. Just make sure you don't select a more
recent version of Ubuntu than the one on which Trisquel is currently based.
The GNU Ring developers were requested to support Trisquel GNU/Linux. There
was a brief exchange on IRC

Their website unfortunately uses Google Maps to show locations of events. It
also uses Google Analytics.
I think the Hardware Freedom people ought to talk more with the Software

They have been informed.
Are any of you celebrating? One idea is to have

I am looking for such a card to replace my blob non free card in my thinkpad

I would like to know if anybody has succeed with the modification described
here :
One important reason to have the latest Firefox is that it will support
WebRTC. WebRTC (real time communication) will be a standard that allows
audio-video communication in HTML5, based in your web browser. It will be a
free alternative to, for example, Skype.
Google are backing WebRTC
I like the idea of some change in the Trisquel forums. There is certainly
room for improvement.
1) I think that for the Trisquel project at the moment it is better to stick
to a single place for information and discussion, instead of creating an
additional new forum like yours.
2) We can
I recently saw that there is actually a sub-forum called the troll hole:

If I had known about it at the time, I think I would have posted it there,
though the title of the forum is a bit off-putting for people, I think.
By the way, the conclusions
This is a bit off topic but I thought you might be interested. I posted

Why not VirtualBox?
