Are you saying that Paul's teachings do not harmonize with
the rest of scripture?
If so, which other books have to be torn out and
burned?

Dear Izzy,
It is important that we move in the direction of truth. If we violate the
truth God reveals to us, then we are miserable and accusing people. We
accuse God of being wrong. We accuse others for not going along with us.
Here are two scriptures on this topic:
ROM 14:22 Hast thou

Jesus gave Christians two commands. 1. Love GOD. more than anything else... or any one else. 2. Love your neighbor as yourself. If you do that, you will have a desire to follow

Terry,
I like that answer. Thats what I
have to do when I get overwhelmed by the complexities of theology or life: go
back to the basics. Did God not make it possible for a little child to be
saved? Have you ever known a child with Downs Syndrome who lit up at the
name of Jesus? Surely
Excellent question,
Laura. Might it not be possible that everyone is free to do either? Who
can answer this? Izzy

Perry,
Rom 10:10 for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness,
and
with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
I agree--we cannot save ourselves by obeying the commandments. They are
the result, not the cause, of salvation. But is it possible that those

Dear Izzy:
You have asked "who can answer this" ( question of whether obedience is required in addition to faith in order to have salvation?)
There are those who will take one verse from God's word, and declare that all you must do is believe thatwhosoever believes on Jesus shall not

What an appropriate discrition. "Discount

It may be that somebody can get eternal life with belief alone. But
consider a "discount Christian." How cheap can you be and still enter
into life? What does this tell God about our love for Him?
Peter, et al,
If we all are required to keep the commandments, then no one is saved:
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. This
includes me, and you, and every human that has ever lived. Otherwise, there
would be no need for a savior. We would be judged by the law
