I am using the PHP library Phirehose to consume the streaming API,
however I don't seem to receive the tweets from the people I am
interested in
- I am connecting to the url: http://stream.twitter.com/1/statuses/filter.json
- Connecting without the filter I get about 27 tweets a second, with

Under the old basic auth, I could have a section of our web based CMS
that could enable logged in users to tweet to our company's twitter
account without needing to know the username and password.
However it appears to me that once twitter removes the basic
authentication this functionality will
