Thanks to all for the responses. I have upgraded RabbitMQ and moved
to the latest txAMQP from source control and it all looks good so far.

Thanks for clarifying that !

1.0 isn't implemented by any broker, AFAIK. When RabbitMQ implements
it, I'll add support for it in txAMQP, last time I checked the
wire-level protocol is not so different, so maybe it'll be a bit
easier.

Cheers.

The last couple of weeks were pretty busy for me, I had in mind to
fix the tickets you submitted, but I barely had online access. Sorry
if it gave the impression that the tickets were ignored.

No problem, "real life" happens.

The thing is that txAMQP has full support for AMQP 0.8, 0.9 and
0.9.1, and most of the changes are either fixes or cosmetic, but no
features are planned since all the versions of the AMQP standard are
 supported.

like the 1.0 spec is final (http://www.amqp.org/resources/specifications).

Did I miss something in the AMQP story ?

Yep, there is :-) (Un)fortunately, support for AMQP is complete and so
there aren't any features planned, but tickets are still fixed (e.g.
the tickets that Aurélien submitted)

Cheers.

[Txamqp-user] txAMQP and newer RabbitMQ versions (>= 2.4)

2012-03-05 Thread Troy Monaghen
I am currently using txAMQP in a project that is using RabbitMQ 2.3.1.
At one time in the past I tried moving up to RabbitMQ 2.4.x and
txAMQP did not work.  Looking through the bug reports I see there were
some issues reported, but I am not sure if they were ever resolved.  I
am now looking at working with a more recent RabbitMQ version
(possibly 2.7.1) and I have a few questions:

- Is anybody using txAMQP successfully with a newer versions of
RabbitMQ (2.4 or later).  If so what version of txAMQP are you using
and did you have do to anything special to get it to work?
- In general, what is the status of txAMQP?  I do not see a lot of
activity with it lately and I am just wondering if anyone is working
on it.
- Depending on the answers to the above questions I might ask if
anyone knows of any good alternatives to txAMQP that work well with
Twisted.

And I would like to also say thanks to the team that built txAMQP...
it has been very useful to me with this project.

Same here, it seems to work fine for me.

That'd be good.

The problem is that there is no maintainer anymore I think. So yeah, the
status of the project is unknown. I wish I could step up, but I don't
have the time right now.

Pika has grown Twisted support recently, and it seems to work from
second hand experience. I plan to look into it.

I'm using txAMQP with RabbitMQ 2.7.1, and it seems to work fine. I'm
using the latest version from bazaar, which seems pretty stable to me.

I'm also using the 0.9.1 AMQP spec.

Maybe it's time to make a new release ?

That's a very interesting question. I've reported two bugs with attached

None that I know of, but the current HEAD works fine.

I second that. Thanks a lot.
