This was a good opportunity to revise the text on a blog I've
been meaning to publish for a while now:

Please remove the "nospam" part

I was wondering if any of you have an answer for this problem. We are trying
to connect to our test box using ado.net and getting errors. In visual
studio we are getting the messages:
An error occurred while connecting to the database. The database might be
unavailable, An exception of type 'Sy
You are now signed up for the B&B QA effort. Thanks Glen. You will begin
receiving emails from Betterandbetter, but only so you're in the loop on what's
going on. I know you're not signing up for the meetings on a regular basis (but
you're always welcome).

We do similar things in a U2 platform-independent server-centric form in order
to support telephony operations in emergency (e.g. 9-1-1) communication
centers. We generally use the PBX vendor's native API if it is
platform-independent. Our most recent implementations use vendors' JTAPI

Thank you everyone for the intensely helpful insights offered so far in this
thread regarding the B&B rollout.
Let me just say up front that I will take responsibility for an inadequate QA
process on this rollout. I thought (wrongly) that we had resolved any browser
compatibility issues we had,
I agree. At least at this stage, don't take this offline. I didn't realize this
was built into AnzioWin. And actually now with a quick look at the specs,
scanner support either... which we might be able to use as well - more so than
the TAPI. I'd like to hear about other possibilities as well.
The first, and sometimes less obvious, question is how does your phone
system handle TAPI and offer data on calls? We looked into doing account
lookups with our MV system and ran into some procedural issues that affected
the process flow. In addition to that, the phone number lookups were 60/40
Don't take this offline if you can help it! This is a subject that comes up
with a lot of sites today.
If someone has developed a method using 'native' tools -- I know I'd love to
hear about the success stories!
And if they used custom tools (like this AnzioWin) then we'd still like to
hear!

we have integrated these features into AnzioWin, our terminal emulation
program. If you are working in a terminal emulation environment, we should
talk.

Has anyone implemented Microsoft TAPI in a Universe application?
Typical initial requirement:
U2 program receives data identifying calling customer/person.
U2 user sees customer(s) incoming call on screen, clicks to answer.
Incoming phone number allows automatic U2 data display.
