Sounds like (and it's quite likely) that
In Windows you don't have the 'rc' style entry points - it's all started as
services.
You can use the Windows task scheduler to run a command on start-up, but it
needs to know that the UniVerse service has started successfully before it
kicks in.
So there are two options:

typical. We are now attempting to change from UniODBC to UniOleDB using SSIS.

Is it just me, or does anybody else absolutely cringe when here in late 2011 we
see anyone still running W2K for any reason?

Normally I would. However I am working on a project now, where the customer
stopped paying maintenance for DataStage way back when, and the version they
have only works on Windows 2000 Server. They have virtualized the box and
everything runs fine..

I just got the ODBC to work on my 64-bit machine. I used Glenn's advice and
downloaded the 11.x UniVerse client and then installed the ODBC driver along

I have set up an MS SQL linked server which uses the UniOleDB driver to allow
me to execute sql commands against UV and return the rows into SQL.
This SQL instance (on a VM) was restored recently and after the restore the way
the extracts worked changed.

I know this is a little late in the conversation, but in Unidata you can
specify the value in the return code portion of the TRANS function -
TRANS('ORDERS', ORDKEY, LINES, 'X2') will return the second value of the LINES
