Good day,
Anybody using the screen manager ('screen' on linux/unix)?
Any gotchas we should know of?
We are on AIX 5.3; UV 10.1.4
Thanks.

Agreed.
When we first asked for enhancement requests, the simple fact was that many
of them were for features that were already in the products, but people
didn't realize they were there or how to get at them. So it became a
question of working out what was a real enhancement request and what
Not sure if anyone else has come across this but I just found out that
under certain circumstances, calling system(9001) will hang a process.
As it's almost time for the Feast of Saturnalia I thought I'd share.
I have a file that has a file trigger - this is just an audit stamp of

Tom,
Specifically, how are the disks configured and how is UDT configured to
run? Is the cluster:
+ Two separate systems, each with their own internal drives for the O/S
Paging
+ Shared disk drives between the two systems for the data and UniData
+ only one system of the cluster owns the data
Watch the number of entries in any directory. Once a directory gets over
one thousand (or so) entries, it can really cause the system to slow down.
On some O/S, the directory is not a tree, so a sequential search

One way to accomplish this would be to allow multiple subroutine blocks
within a single source file. The code (in one file) of:
SUBROUTINE ONE( ARG1, ARG2)
MYVAR = 1
CALL TWO(ARG2, ARG1) ;* reverse them
END
SUBROUTINE TWO(ARG1, ARG2)
PRINT MYVAR ; * UNDEFINED!! out of scope
PRINT ARG1,
If you want to use GNU screen with emulation other than VT family
(including xterm), you have to add many tweaks in the screenrc file for
your emulation.
You might need to hack the screen to use a slave printer. If you want
to use the screen with aux. input devices, like credit card swipe
If you are running VMWARE MS 2003, please contact me off line. We are
looking for a reference. Your company won't have to endorse it. The
prospect just wants to speak to you about it.
Thanks!
