RE: [OT] Symbol PDT6800 Help

2004-03-19 Thread Anthony Youngman
Don't remind me :-) Our first office computer was a 25/30 (a 300
chassis with a 250 cpu board). Great machine, but the same size as
todays big domestic freezers and that didn't even include the disk
drives ... 116Mb :-)

Cheers,
Wol

Sorta makes me think of the booting instructions on a MicroData
Reality.

This will take you through some questions like "Software Update",
etc. You'll have to answer these as you think appropriate for your needs.

If that doesn't work, I know that will bring you to a dos
prompt (depending on where you are when you do it). I don't know if it
works from all areas of the unit's programming.

You can also force a reboot by holding down <4>+<5> press wait 3
secs press again, then release <4>+<5>.

I don't have a manual in front of me, so I can't double check at this
point, but I think that the manuals are available on Symbol's website.

Hope this helps.

Does anyone know how to get back to the main configuration menu on a Symbol
PDT6800? I'm stuck at: 'Terminal cannot associate with AP. You're out of
range or not configured.'

2004-03-18 Thread Robert Porter
Don't have those but perhaps the manual from symbol would be of help...
ftp://symstore.longisland.com/Symstore/techpubs/manuals/mobile/pdf/3264502a..pdf

Check out p. 3-4

1. Boot the terminal to command mode.
For the 35-Key terminal:
" Press and hold and .
" Press and release PWR.
" Release and .
For the 46-Key terminal:
" Press and hold and .
" Press and release .
" Release and .
The terminal displays:
COMMAND MODE
Select function
Self test

Could that be what you're looking for? Hope it helps.
