Hello Karl-Heinz,
It could be that the issue is not with UniVerse, rather at the web
server end. If you can share the source code with us which you are using
to build up the request this may help us to trace the problem. Also, are
you running UniVerse or UniData and on which OS?

Anybody using DataVu? Rocket's free data viewer? I think this is a

But I can't get past a seemingly beginning point...
I have created a repository.
I can now define a new U2 data source. After entering the server name,

I know ODBC has a setup in the HS.ADMIN account...
However, you mentioned this is using JDBC. Why must they always change
things?
At any rate, that might be a starting point for you. Perhaps there is a
JDBC setup somewhere that you can run from a UV account.

Hi Harold,
Glad to hear it might be useful to you.
There are a bunch of videos available on the U2 DevZone
(https://u2devzone.rocketsoftware.com/accelerate/) that could be useful to you;
particularly under the 'U2 DataVu Query' section which is immediately under the
DataVu 2.0 videos.

I have one account set up for ODBC access which I know works for ODBC

Hi Harold,
Glad to hear it mig
I JUST found a pdf document which describes DataVu. At the very end it
says
"Please note that a JDBC driver is required in order to access all
relational data sources. Drivers are not required for UniData,
Universe, and OLAP servers." So it seems the JDBC issue is moot.

It's been a while since I worked with DataVu, but if I recall, it will only
work with type "A" descriptors. It won't work with I's and D's.

I think you will find this is incorrect.

Hi all
I work with DataVu a bit. The first trap I got caught on was skipping through
the documentation and missing steps, double check the steps in installation.
A couple of things to check.
1. make sure the entry is correct in the UV.ACCOUNTS file.
2. This does not use ODBC, but it does use
Does this only work on version 11 of Universe? Upgrading next year
probably, but, just curious...

I believe it works with 10.3 as DataVu was released before 11.1. You wil need
to confirm on the Rocket website.
