We also use 4948 for routing and Netonix for powering backhauls/APs at
DC sites.
I'm excited for Netonix's native -48v switch coming out this year.
Currently doing DCtoDC conversions to get em working.

Yeah, the 4948 is a reliable workhorse for a layer 2 / layer 3 switch. We
do routing and vlans on our 4948, and I still enjoy the familiarity of IOS
- especially for VLANs. Slowly learning when and where I can employ
Mikrotik but I find the learning curve for VLANs is tough to get used to.

Great suggestions. I'll probably go the Cisco route since I need
routing capability (i.e. ospf & static routing) and it doesn't appear as
though the Netonix has that.
Thanks again!

If you wanted to stick with Cisco, a Cisco 4948 with hot swappable 48VDC
power supplies and you will have 48 1G ports. $300 on ebay.

If you don't need more than 16 ports you could go with a edgepoint16. I have
had zero problems with them.

We currently use a Cisco DC powered Layer 3 switch at one of our remote
sites. The site has an Emerson DC inverter / battery backup and outputs
48VDC. We power the Cisco switch with 48VDC and use "step down" devices
to output 24VDC with POE.

I know we noticed it during testing when we could not connect a test
customer from over 14 miles to our sector running v 8 on the AC and v6 on
the client.

I've not tried using v6 on a v8.0 AC device. Honestly, we do it all
the time in AirRouters, but have only done it as needed on the radio
and those have been AirOS XM/XW, not AC. We generally try to have
the radios bridged, letting the customer's router do the L3. When we

No, I'm using it to provide customers a v6 prefix. In Bridge mode,
you can enable IPv6, but there is no DHCP-PD option, just static or
SLAAC - this would be for management-only. In router or SOHO router
mode, the WAN does DHCP-PD and the puts that on the LAN for
you need to watch out for distance. Rocket AC's have a hard limit of I
think 14.1 miles. That may be ok for you but just something to consider.

I'm sending a /64 today. I've not tried a /56 or /48 PD, but
presumably AirOS will either take a /64 from the larger prefix and
put it on the LAN or put the whole /56 or /48 prefix on the LAN.
Either way, AirOS isn't going to do DHCP-PD on the LAN, but you
could do it
I think they would depend on what dhcp client is asking for but im sure a /64

So now how does this work with multiple subnets, prefixes, etc.? If I had an
internal router that further sub-delegated prefixes, would I change that /64 to
a /56? What size of prefix is sent down to the CPE from your router?

Has anyone successfully gotten ipv6 PD to work on ubnt devices running pppoe
and configured in router mode?
Also does ubnt not plan on putting any v6 features in the v8.0?

We had this exact same issue on 1 tower. But we have upgraded 5 identical
towers. Only difference we could find was that the one tower that failed did
not have WPA turned on. (It’s a shared tower with another company and did not
want to show them our Pass key for the rest of our network). As
