Then maybe there’s hope that someone from UBNT will contact me again someday.
I have a ticket that has seen no movement since, I think, December. And it is a
bug in Unifi that is keeping me from upgrading the AC Outdoor Mesh pros to
anything even faintly resembling current firmware.
From:
will not power any up device that
needs POE+ unless CDP is on. Seems it uses CDP to help determine the power
needs. At least it does on the Cisco Aps. It will power a POE device just
fine. Weird, huh?
Just something to stick in the back of your mind. I had NO idea this would
happen.

UNMS- OK. I am playing with it already.
Web GUI- It has, correct?
SSH- It has, correct.
And thanks for the heads up on the passive POE. That probably rules it out
right there!

I love the fact that some Ubiquiti switches can provide both 802.3af and
passive 24V. I like the management and the fact that (I think) SNMP actually
works, unlike the Toughswitches. I
be managed by SSH or a
web GUI. Does it become a boat anchor? Any idea anyone?
* The non-Unifi one looks like it is the exact same switch without the
Unifi management. I know it has a GUI and probably an SSH ability as well.
I would love you guys’ opinion.
Thanks

Looking forward to seeing some of you in Birmingham Monday. I am going to the
Baicells training, but will not be able to attend the remainder of the
convention.
If you see me, say “Hi”!

Since no one responded, I am rephrasing-
Is it a power zoom? If so, where is the control?

Is the 3x optical zoom just manually adjustable at installation, or is it
remotely controllable?
I have gone through the documentation and I can't find where it is
explained.
Thanks

I have been using the new little mesh ones in cabins. Putting them in the crawl
space of the 1 story tiny cabin out of the way of the renters.
Don’t really use the mesh, just use them because they are cheap and dual band.

And please tell me how 2.4 AC can work in the limited spectrum without wiping
out/degrading things for other users. Or do we just not care about others any
more?
