I've been experiencing the same problem, with Ubuntu and XUbuntu 6.06.1.
The server is Debian Sarge, with a stable, working OpenLDAP
installation, using TLS.
I've come across a work-around, though. If /etc/nsswitch.conf is set up
with the entries like this...
passwd: files ldap
group:
This is apparantly due to Glade# being stricter in what it accepts -

Dapper 6.06: on a Dell Latitude D600 I can well hibernate once,
but not twice. On the second attempt the system just doesn't
start to hibernate.
For a laptop I consider this as a major problem because a laptop
is often used (e.g. on travel) for short moments between which
one doesn't want
Is the backtrace done with thread apply all bt? Can you try to strace
-f -p $(pidof nautilus) when you get the issue?

Preview may be the wrong word. I am not getting icons for the images.
However, I have found that if I go into KDE and view the folder/Desktop
in konqueror, when I go back into Gnome, I see the icon.
I also note that there are no icons for .wav, .doc, .mp3, or .html.
There used to be. So now it
slomo rebuilt this for the new dbus, which has fixed this in the

I have the same problem when trying to sync a folder containing subfolders from
a USB key (vfat filesystem so far I know) and a folder on the HD (ext3
filesystem) by copying (using ctrl+c/crtl+v) from USB to HD. Some files in some
subfolders are not copied. No error message occurs.

I received the folloving response:
The same error appeared for me after i installed the nvidia drivers.
Instaling the Debian menu fixed it.
The ubuntu wiki has article about the problem, that solution works for
me

I can now confirm that the driver works when you remove the assert-
statement in the source and recompile
