I noticed that sometimes, that same dialog box doesn't have the text
selected, but has a text cursor in the middle of the text (which sure
doesn't look tidy either...).
I am hardly a programmer, but maybe label widgets have a make text
selectable property, or something to that effect, that was
k. i just installed pbuilder. i'll leave it run overnight.

Version proftpd-mysql-1.2.10-27 doesn't just support password() function
in mysql. Using encrypt() function solves the problem. Versions

I experienced the same problem until I realized that some of xine's
audio codecs are not installed by default. The missing codecs have been
moved to the xine-extracodecs package which resides in the
multiverse repository. I installed this package and - voilà - DVB now
with sound!

I can use the system-tools without being asked for a password. I can add new
users, put them in the admin group etc. without myself being in the admin
group. useradd wouldn't work without proper rights though.
I can also set clock with time-admin without proper permissions.
just installed the new alsa-1.0.13rc1 which includes the patch (yes, ive

I can confirm this bug, which also appears in my system.
My graphics card is an MGA G200 AGP, and the behaviour I get is that
when GDM starts, my monitor goes into power-saving mode complaining that

I can also confirm this.
I can get the higher resolution, but only at low frequency.
Previously, I have been able to run the MGA200 at 1024x768 at 85Hz.
Now, if I try this the monitor shows a message saying not able to sync.
Dell Optiplex PC running Xubuntu Edgy with latest updates. Worked
I get this error whenever I try to synch. However, I can do multiple
backups fine if I do not try synching first.

manually, and then I used ifdown eth0 and ifup eth0 to use the

There was already a Suse Linux System on logical partitions installed on
the system. Ubuntu wanted to install itself on a primary partition.

I can confirm this behavior. I can not start any apps but use the
existing ones. After a while the apps I clicked start.

Same problem. And resuming is even worth! There are long periods where
there is no HDD activity and the CPU does not seem to be doing much
either. Maybe it is related to my RAM size (1.5 GB)? Works much faster
on my old 256MB Laptop.
Anyhow, swsusp2 has always worked better for me but I hate to

Simple to reproduce. Boot in a non-english language (french for
