Same problem here running firefox 1.99+2.0b2+dfsg-1ubuntu1 with Dutch locale.
It's a locale problem since running:
$ LANG=en firefox
from a terminal works.
The problem is mozilla-firefox-locale-nl-nl is still1.99+2.0b1ubuntu1-2.

I just tried booting Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft) Knot 3 desktop cd

Writing an ISO right-clicking on the file has the same behavior, in
fact, I pressed twice before realizing (via ps) that nautilus-cd-burner
was actually doing something (decompressing/indexing/? files inside ISO
image?)...

Today I tried booting the laptop with Knoppix 5.0.1 (kernel 2.6.17);
same results: Knoppix desktop shows icons for all my existing
partitions; but when I try to install it to the hard disk, the
partitioner (qtparted) does not detect any existing partition, and shows
the disk as fully unallocated.
Ubiquity from edgys iso of the 15th of september worked fine.

I had the same problem a little while ago. I solved my problem by
reinstalling the driver manually, and it turned out that there was a new
driver that was recommended.
Also, I ended up validating all the XML files on my system by running

This problem affects all wireless drivers I have tested running using
ndiswrapper in edgy, removing the special case for ndiswrapper and
allowing it to use Wireless extentions directly fixes this problem for
all the systems I have tested it on. This would seem to be a simple two-

yes, I also have the same bug with x86 Ubuntu. I did a fresh install
with edgy on Sep. 16th, and I started OO.o Writer, and when I go to save
it crashes, then recovers my document. Except EVERYTIME I try and save
