I am getting the same problems but plog shows it is timing out. I

I never got the message but I did upgrade from the 3 update to what ever
updates existed. After doing this I can not connect to the internet
even with the sudo ifup eth0. It is quite annoying to not be able to
get on the internet. Like some one else I can get on using OS 10.4.8 so
I know the
File --Import option is still missing in the Firefox in Edgy Beta.

According to the Ubuntu Firefox changelogs this was fixed in May 2006.
According to upstream bug report, patches for this were committed to the
1.8 trunk in April 2006. So I'll change the status of this bug report
from Fix commited to Fix released.

Yes, eth0 is wired interface.
I just found that there is an paramater called interface in wifi-radar.conf,
I set it to eth1 and tried wifi-radar -d, and same thing it also ends, the only
difference is that it doesn't give any messages about lo,sit0,eth0 interfaces
being not wireless interfaces.

Hi, I need some more help to reproduce this bug.
I am now testing in a up-to-date dapper environment, using en_US locale.
So far scim-qtimm doesn't make any difference, nor any input method
settings I mentioned above.
However I don't quite understand what does the open another session in
the bug
I've had this excact problem as well. It's a serious problem - I now
can't use apt-get as it always complains uim-qt depends on uim-common,
which can't be installed.

Yes, I have the same problem. It's not so fun to switch to TTY1, then
switch back to kdm if I want to login. This machines with Dapper works
like a charm.

First, thank you for reporting this.
In line 326 of ed.defns.c in the tcsh source package is:
F_KILLREGION, /* ^W */
Ctrl + W is set to kill-region for the emacs mode, which is the default mode.
In VI mode, it is set to F_DELWORDPREV. I think this is the source of the
confusion.

Yesterday i upgraded from dapper to edgy. Since then i cannot change the
brightness of the screen of my Sony Vaio vgn-a115z notebook anymore
(using gnome's energy-control tool).

i think i've either had too much to drink or i've found a fix. (tho i haven't
found regressions yet).
if we were to get rid of dhcp3 and use udhcp (available in universe) then this
is fixed ^-^.
udhcpc works in this situation and from my testing... all i think needs to be

If I start suspend and hibernate with the acpi scripts resume works flawlessly
but if I start it with Power Manager it restarts always with locked screen

The azureus 2.5.0.0-1 package from debian/unstable depends and build-

I must admit that I used the username admin as the first user, and
wasn't aware of the group named admin. Check your proposal out, and

I also got the issue on my edgy installation and now the problem seems
to be fixed but introduced a regression. If I only change the gateway on
my wireless connection (eth1) to 192.168.0.200, it is correctly changed
in my /etc/network/interfaces file, but I've got no more WiFi
connectivity because
IMHO, it can be considered as a bug.
The only way to move two connected windows (not only with update-manager, but
also with synaptic) is to mark the active one as 'always in the visible work
area', change desk, then mark the visible window as 'only in this work area' -
don't know if the real
