Your laptop does not provide LID support through HAL - there should be
one button reported as type lid. This is explains why When laptop lid
closed part is shaded.
There is also no battery reported, so this explains why the other part
is shaded as well.

Thanks Gary - that's working for me.
I got the 2.5.0.0 source from Azureus CVS, made the change to
Initializer.java and built with Ant. Then copied Azureus2.jar to
/usr/share/java/ (where the apt installed one lives).
Made the changes you suggested to /usr/bin/azureus, ran it and it works.

I'm sorry but I really cannot say. I have not had any problems since the
upgrade to Dapper.
I propose to close this incident and open a new one if there are
problems at the next upgrade.

[dist-upgrade] Breezy AMD64 upgrade failed at ia32-libs_1.4ubuntu4_amd64.deb
its possible that your system hasnt fully upgraded yet, if you try
running:
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
this should hopefully help

Hm, don't think this applies to just IMAP folders -- just had evo crash
when marking an empty local folder as read.

Can you manually create the links:
sudo ln -s /usr/bin/hplj1000 /usr/bin/hplj1005

and if you want to try the new UDEV rules file the links:

one: my bluetooth mouse fails to work for more than a minute. worked fine
before update today.
the strange thing it doesn't effect the keyboard. Its only with handling the
mouse. In fact while writing this my machine acted very slowly with any mouse
or keyboard inputs.

When an update is performed, and packages in install, the console is not
updated, and we have to close/open the console the see the news. (This

Interesting, it reports ac_adapter properly, so it may be some strange
bug in power-manager or ACPI reports present wrongly from time to time.
Can you Quit power-manager and start it from command line (Konsole - run
guidance-power-manager) and report back what messages are reported (if
any) at
Bad news, after running for a day without any problems it started
crashing again with the same old I830WaitLpRing message. So the latest
git version of the driver still seems to have the same problem.

I tried today to run : sudo wifi-radar -d
AFTER the wifi connection is established manually (ie. I set the ESSID key of
the AP using iwconfig, and configured the andIP addresses using ifconfig
route), so I got this:
