I have found that the GRUB is the problem. I am using SuSe 10.1 withLILO
and everything works. The system will boot from the hard drive. When the
Edgy lets you choose a bootloader, this problem will exist.

Thanks for your comments everybody, I didn't expect this many reactions.
I also have a notebook with Intel GMA onboard video which required me to
install 915resolution in order to get the correct resolution.
Essentially it is the same problem, however I filed a different
bugreport for that: bug
The 0.7.6 version should be included in edgy-updates as it supports
2.6.17 kernels and, obviously, it has no point to have an outdated and
not working wacom.ko module in edgy.

In the layouts pane of System-Preferences-Keyboard, there is a checkbox
to indicate the default layout at the right of every layout-name.
As there can only be one default layout, you should replace the
checkboxes with radio-buttons, as checkboxes usually indicate that
I have the same problem.
After a while keyboard gets unresponsive.
A workaround seems to be to unload and reload the usb module:
sudo modprobe -r uhci_hci;sudo modprobe uhci_hci
After that keyboard seems to work normally for a while.

First time I clicked cancel it died and I got this:

I installed Lukas fix deb from #67889 - and it works! I can log off
normally and the session is saved. Also cancel works. (although the

Yes, this is indeed a confirmed bug that only exhibits itself sometimes
with the 2.0 series KTorrent releases.
This bug does not happen in SVN, but nobody (not even the developers)
knows exactly what change in SVN fixed this bug.
As a result, I am at a loss of ideas as to how to fix this bug...

I'm using Edgy, 64 bit version. I upgraded from Dapper where I could never get
fglrx work.
After the update to Edgy, it didn't work better.
First because the module fglrx wasn't loaded.
After loading it, glxinfo was using Mesa.

I know what I did before getting this error... I was fiddling with the
services-admin program...
After click on, if I remember, the printer servers, it stalled for a moment and
killed on me. I then got this...
When I try to start the services-admin again... I have tried running it at sudo
and
Think I fixed it... had to do with the dbus... some how it got unchecked
and gnome and other what nots in ubuntu couldn't handle the situation
without paniking. (I guess I would freak too if I lost one of my
vitals, like an arm or leg :P ) Anyway, started up the service
manually... you know
This modules is also needed for wirless on AOpen 1557GLS. The
'dmidecode' thing doesn't seem to produce any usefull information for
this hardware though.

Unfortunately, my problem still remains.
Let me clarify the case. As long as I have used instant messaging
(almost a decade now), I have written and edited (like in a text editor)
my messages, and then pressed the send button to send the messages. It
is easy to use and
i confirm this happens with me as well. thunderbird as of this version
just crashes as soon as it starts with the same crash output as above.

My son and I recently installed Edgy.
We've tried to get mplayer working as it did in Dapper. Good app,
played just about everything in Dapper. We were also using an earlier
version of Firefox (1.5X?).
As best as I can recall, I was trying to load a video off CNN.com and
