My speculated cause might be wrong, as it seems to not be resuming
consistently again. This happens most often when I switch power states
while the machine is suspend to RAM (e.g., detach the power cord and
resume). If it doesn't resume properly, I can get it to resume by

I'm using feisty and the version of gnome-panel is 2.17.90-0ubuntu2.
My current gtk control theme is Murrina PF-Y Blue (http://www.gnome-
look.org/content/show.php?content=50636) but it also happens with other
themes.
The Window Selector applet is the second from right (the one not
matching in).

Hello Matt,
Here is the file. The problem is that the report says that the program
exited normally. The Theme manager did not work at all, but the exit button
is not hanging so I believe that the report is not seeing what is happening
when you open the theme manager. For instance, other programs
I'm not using any visualisation/effects. It's enough that the Visualisation
plugin is enabled in the Configure plugins. It doesn't have to be active.
Moreover Rhythmbox is hidden (Ctrl+W).
At first I had no idea that Rhythmbox is causing my problems with mplayer and I
was wondering what's wrong

It's pretty much gone since latest kernel upgrade. 99 times out of 100
everything works fine.
The rare occurence is more likely if I am booting up with other USB
devices, particularly my card reader, so I tend to wait until
everything is loaded up before plugging it in.

I'm having the same problem in feisty. It doesn't happens always. I
login to kde directly with kdm and not resuming session. Instead, I have
a knetwork manager icon in ~/.kde/Autostart

I also have an Inspiron XPS M1210, with the same symptoms. I can confirm
that the nmi_watchdog=0 boot option, combined with blacklist video
fixes the freezes. I'm going to mark this bug as confirmed, but believe
that attributing it to gnome-power-manager is wrong - it's more likely a
kernel bug.
