In Kubuntu since 6.06, Kontact fails to show the newticker plugin on the

Kubuntu is the only Debian based system with this problem, so it can't

Nope, I made a full reinstall of feisty herd 5, and upgraded the system,
now I have kernel 2.6.20-11-generic but inserting tifm_sd or sdhci or
mmc_block changes nothing. Please let's have a look at this together, I
am really scared about getting to release without mmc reader working :)

(comes with kde 3.5.5, keyboard layouts working fine) to kde 3.5.6 using

Please include this patch in Feisty. I'm developing the compositing
version of KWin in KDE, and it simply does not work with hardware
acceleration (r200) without this patch.
I've verified that this patch does fix the problem, and doesn't appear
to cause any other problems.

IMHO a workaround not a fix ;)
Nevertheless: I had a quick look:
Edgy and Feisty: bug is fixed. I've no knoda installed and
kontact does not show the 'News' item anymore.
Dapper had the bug, and there are two workarounds:
a) install knoda if you want to use Newgroups
b) Settings-> configur
Running 'sudo lspci -vvnn' can be run with either kernel and will return
the same results. While 'dmesg' would be best from the kernel that is
having the problem so we can see what is going on. Thanks again.

lcp echo requests. In the options file of pppd I have set "lcp-echo-interval"
as 5 and "lcp-echo-failure" as 3.
