The package hint is most probably wrong. I entered gnome, not knowing which gnome package causes the problem. Launchpad turned this into meta-gnome2. I do not know why. (A Launchpad bug, perhaps?) I do not have a package named meta-gnome2 installed on my system. Or a package called gnome2. --
