I can confirm that this is fixed in Gutsy (24-06-2007). I just
successfully copied a Kubuntu Feisty ISO image without any hitches.
Therefore I'm assuming this can be set as fix released, if this is wrong
please change it back.

It fails with CD-R or CD-RW media, i don't know how to provide more information

I've done some more tests.
Large size thumbnails are also affected, but it's normally not as visible as on
the normal size thumbs.

I also noticed that the corrupted thumbnail never happens for smaller images.

I don't have a DVD burner so I tried testing this by burning a CD on

1) Launched CD burn of a directory.
2) remove a file from this directory.

When I ran vol_id it gave the same number as in fstab, and /etc/disk
/by-uuid.

I've got a similar problem with my mum's dapper installation.
I installed the current 2.6.20-generic kernel from the feisty respository on a
dapper machine,
to fix a problem with not detecting a USB scanner at power-up (needed to
unplug/replug to see it)

FWIW, I have the same problem on an Athlon 2800+ laptop. My max
frequency should be 2133 mhz (apprx) but instead it is 1466 (approx).
Using cpufreq_set does not work. Echoing the value into scaling_max_freq
does not work. I ran cpufreq-info and it reported the hardware was
limiting it to 1467. For
