a DVD movie x(title) via Totem/Movie/Play Disc x, but I didn't succeed.

In Ubuntu Feisty and Gutsy (dunno about earlier versions), the program
mouseemu is installed on Macs to simulate a second mouse button.
However, this program is quite buggy - notably, it makes the Caps Lock
LED cease to function. Since

default, which is the maximum) and let the system sit idle (no
mouse/keyboard movement) for a while, the screen brightness
automatically adjusts to maximum on idle.
