I had the same thing happen to me. Update-manager aborted because it
couldn't find one package in ~1400 (mostly because of a shaky internet
conenction), asked me to fill out a bug report, said my system could be
left in a broken state, etc; when all it needed was to retry.

crashes the caller with a similar call trace to above.
I also replicated the nfs4 crash.
In nfs3 the keytab is optional, and the I can get immediate segfaults without
the keytab in place.

IMHO it's too late to fix this for gutsy. As you found out you need at least
three UVF exceptions for it. I looked at it already some weeks ago and came
also to this conclusion. I stopped looking at it when I got to libosip2-dev and
saw that others packages also depend on it and need to be check
2.6.22-12 kernel is no longer in repositories, I can no longer install
it. I have 2.6.22-13 and 2.6.22-14 installed and neither of them work.

I don't need noacpi in the boot options but I still need to rename away
the kernel/drivers/acpi modules directory, otherwise my laptop still
jams up.

Thanks for your report, which version of Ubuntu are you running? If i
add an Image as an attachment in Gutsy i get a preview in the attachment
bar. Not confirming.

Could people experiencing the bug please test:
aplay test-16.wav
aplay test-32.wav
and confirm whether one of the command outputs crackling while the other
doesn't?
If that's the case, what's your alsa driver? (lsmod | grep snd)
NB: I checked with ltrace, and aplay successfully sets 16 and 32-bit

output device, so I think a hack that helps prefer a mode and still
allows for the other modes to be selected is better than one that keeps
the bad mode but r
Hi,
Did you use the restricted drivers manager to reload the firmware? If
you look at the dmesg output you'll probably see that the firmware has
changed from the 2.6.22-12 kernel.
