Adding to what Bryce said, my original bug report deals with a 3D
performance regression, not 2D. I believe the problem was that the
i810/Mesa driver in Dapper disabled batchbuffers, causing a slowdown ,
and there were other issues related to Xorg and drm that resolved
themselves from Edgy onwards.
Michael, your package is building now.
However, you need to add the patch to "apply" - that's where the syntax error
occured in my build. I'm guessing it's related to that I've named it "*.patch"
and not "*.diff".
I'll attach my current debdiff.

Actually, a sync WILL get you a working package. DebTorrent will
currently work without the extra infrastructure that Par describes, it
will just be less efficient at peer-to-peer sharing than if that extra

bugfixes, updated/added translations of both the application and
manual. Judging from the time it took for Ubuntu to update their
package from the last to the current version it might take some time,
but since this is a release without
I found a work-around for this: Rebooting (or starting initially) in
'graphics safe mode' allows one to get around

It would be nice if you could provide some debugging information as
described in the sane-sm3840 man page:

I solved my massive memory leak (compiz.real > 800MiB after few hours)
simply by increasing gpu memory from bios from 64mb to 256mb. I have

This way I can keep compiz.real memory at less than 40MiB after full day
of working but I don't think the underlying bug but only hi

Is it, like suggested in the comments, /etc/acpi/power.sh that controls this?
It reads /etc/default/acpi-support and in my config it says;

In your circumstances I suspect the unexpected "Dell Restore" primary
