This happens on Gutsy, x86_64 intel and on fiesty, x86_64 intel.
I followed instructions to temporarily add the hardy archive to get the
new kernel via apt-get. On both machines, the package gave me the WRONG
uuid, on all my installed kernels in the menu.lst file.

Assuming you back running in Gutsy, care to try installing 'linux-
backports-modules' - it has an updated version of ALSA.
Also, the Hardy Heron Alpha 4 series was recently released which
contains an updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the
new Hardy Heron Alpha

In the first tab of the program, Boot options, the maximum resolution I can
see is 1600x1200, and in general it's missing all wide resolutions like
1440x900, 1680x1050 etc...
My display is currently working at 1920x1200, is it possible
I think this issue may be resolved in hardy. I've heard some talk of
including a gnome VNC viewer application called vinegar that take care
of these issues. We will have to wait and see if it is included.

After installing ksync and kitchensync version 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu6 and then
trying to install kitchensync version 4:3.5.7enterprise20070926-0ubuntu2
I was able to recreate the bug. After enabling proposed and installing
4:3.5.7enterprise20070926-0ubuntu2.1 I no longer experienced the bug.

Yeah, definitely a bigger problem there. I too was able to reproduce
