I can confirm the same on an Intel 855GM card. After implementing fixes from
this bug (where you'll see my other comments) and disabling xrandr in
gconf-editor I am able to use the intel driver, at the correct resolution and
DPI without xrandr crashing.

Yes, attached script fixes suspend/resume problems on my D820 too. All
the changes I made in /etc/default/acpi-support had no effect and I

A colleague just helped me make this not happen by doing these things:
sudo apt-get install gs-gpl
sudo update-alternatives --set gs /usr/bin/gs-gpl
because he found out it doesn't work with gs-esp (the default) but it
does with gs-gpl.

I already tried the b43 drivers also in 7.10. Never worked properly. Well
... I am actually facing IP issues with eth0 also as described.

machines all work fine, it's only Hardy that has the issue for me. Also,

Thanks for testing upstream. It's a least a little comforting knowing
that Hardy+1 (the Intrepid Ibex) should resolve this issue since it will

Actually I didn't realize that I was updating from Gutsy to Hardy. I
just wanted a repository where to find some screenlets. Found one but
was a hardy update. So, suddenly I was updating to hardy.

The comment (as others have mentioned in the thread) wasn't that the
building is an issue (network-manager is a small application), it is the

I already uploaded an updated package to Debian. Try to sync it and
check, if the issue still appears. I removed the possible bashism in
debian/rules. If the issue is still there, the problem is caused by the
Ubuntu buildds or whoever builds the package for Ubuntu. I wasn't able
