I am finding this nearly impossible to send a screenshot, as it involves
changing from the GUI to the console just before the panic. This also
effects the latest 2.6.24-14-generic Kernel. Is there anything else I
can do from my end (perhaps recompile this Kernel with more debug on for
example)?

-- does not have the kambing list of packages in the directory
/var/lib/apt/lists. You can see what's in there if you unpack base.tgz

It now seems fixed/almost fixed. The first PDF I tried (see below) took
a very long time between data being sent and a page coming out. Each
subsequent page also took some time and the last three didn't print at
all (duplex on). However I tried another PDF of similar size and it
printed quite quick

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could
test with it so we can work

have this issue with evince and the hpijs driver -- I can test other
applications if you want, I can tell you that firefox, openoffice, and
