For now, I umount (not eject the device) and then unplug the ipod, I
guess this shouldn't corrupt anything (maybe I'm wrong?) and then the
ipod ejects by itself. This bug should definitely be worked out for
better usage of the gui, though.

This is an Atheros issue, not an Ubuntu/MadWifi issue. I have an AR5007

Computer would login, 5 seconds go black then logout.

If I am not mistaken, in hardy even IDE (parallel ATA) disks are handled
by libata and are /dev/sd*. If that is the case, hdapsd should default
to /dev/sda instead of /dev/hda (in /etc/defeault/hdapsd).

After booting the computer this morning I could immediately see that the
printer icon appeared after logging in. I could see one job there
struggling to get printed. After I while I got a popup that my printer
might not be connected.
I cancelled the job and then tried the web-gui. It worked

gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad and elisa-plugins-ugly both in universe and
flvdec not in gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse; sounds fine to me.
It's however quite a bad situation that higher quality elisa plugins
pull lesser quality gstreamer plugins; perhaps you want to enforce
more consistency
