Sorry I'm n00b to the bug-handling stuff, but it looks as if this bug

really IS a show-stopper and manifests for me on 8.04.

signals passed to killproc.
This has been fixed in Debian (lsb 3.2-12), so a merge of lsb will fix this in
Intrepid.

I think we need to wait until lsb is patched and uploaded to start
changing the rest of the packages, also we will need to depend on the
specific version of lsb (as pointed by steve on his comment).

was Opera and okular, which also showed up as available applications
once I had installed Gnome. These three applications were installed
prior to installing f-spot, but still weren't picked up. I also double-

Just a question for the professionals here. I can't switch to the
virtual console (ALT+CTRL+F1), it starts fading to white and then
nothing happens. It does the same fading before X is starting and it
takes a lot of time. Is there a possibilty to eliminate this

Roger, you don't need to wait for Intrepid. Just upgrade to the current
hardy-proposed package. You have to enable proposed updates for that.
In Ubuntu it is System - Administration - Software Sources - Updates.
I don't know where it is in Xubuntu, but it should be in a similar

Ah, it's dep-waiting on libasio-dev, which did not get promoted because
the latest version failed to build in intrepid. I promoted the older

Okay. How do I find out which package would be relevant? I am basically
thinking of ways of syncing it with evolution.
Wammu looks like the solution for backup. By some technical reason I do
not know, however, launchpad does not allow filing it against wammu.

This is not a nautilus bug. I have the same problem in Hardy XUBUNTU
which uses Thunar rather than Nautilus. But, it does use the gvfs as
far as I know. Whereas, KUBUNTU does not make use of gvfs and is not
afflicted with this problem.

evince crashes while trying to print
I started encountering this bug on 2008/05/30 with exim in Ubuntu 8.04.
To connect to the smarthost, exim first causes an lookup.
(Oddly, an error response to this lookup that the name does not exist seems to
cause my machine to repeat te lookup. Only when the server sends an empty

Configuration editor's search function failed in finding a word
Correction - this HAS stopped me using evolution completely. I'm now
back to Outlook in a VirtualBox VM. Not as seamless but at least it
doesnt crash as much.

I have similar problem with my laptop also after resume from hibernate I
see white screen for some short amount of time and then I get back in
X11 and everything seems to work properly but if I try to switch to
console with ctrl+alt+F1 etc. I only get white screen instead of the
console. For me
