That might be, but in that case it would be nice if the concerned tools
would inform the user that the encoding is different and maybe even
convert it for them. Novice as well as intermediate users could get lost

Indeed, I have now found that there is an option to print double-sided.
However, this can not be accessed through the gtk-printing dialogue, but

Yuk, I just encountered this problem when doing an 'update' using
update manager - it works ok for some sites but then the transfer rate
goes to zero for others! I'm going through a BT Voyager 2500 11g router
via Talktalk broadband - not sure which the buggy router is Because

After some investigation, I found out that ath5k has been removed from
the kernel and put in the backport-modules instead. So I downloaded that

In ubuntu before 8.10 i could simply enable bluettoh and wireless using
acer_acpi and hadrware keys configured in gnome. Now with 8.10 i can't

I have just been trying the latest 8.10 intrepid RC and during the live cd
booting at first I get the sliding Bar moving Left right for a short while
then the screen gets corrupted showing 2 bars then eventually the whole boot

On latest Intrepid Beta, upgrading a DKMS kernel module or installing a
new one (via aptitude) results in Network Manager's strang behaviour.
First, it loses the connection and reconnects again (maybe it is
supposed to, I'm not sure), and
I got the same impressions as Bryce Harrigton about holding down the
mouse button in order to avoid getting kicked to any other menu action,
but it won't always work.

I just tested Kubuntu 8.10rc1. When I am booting the CD I am
automatically ask for my language. I select Deutsch (German) and the
menustructure is now displayed in German. Ok so far.
When I select F3 for Tastaturlayout (Keyboardlayout) the list is still
in english, so I read
