pay attention to the -Dhw part.
In the screen that shows up, DOUBLE check that the PCM volume is not set
to 0. It seems that on some Intrepid installations it is inexplicably
so. More so if you upgraded via the update
I can confirm this problem.
The problem is caused by an incompatibility between the version of openvpn and
kvpnc provided by intrepid. To be able to work with the current version of
openvpn, kvpnc = 0.9 is required. This means, that the problem should be fixed
as soon a newer version of kvpnc

Same issue here, on t43p with Mobility FireGL V3200 and Ubuntu 8.10.
Driver installed by enabling it in the restricted drivers popup. i'm
running compiz on top of it. The system suspends fine but resumes with
blank screen and non-responsive keyboard, hard-reset is the only option

I have installed Stéphane Graber's package (rt2860 - 1.8.0.0-0ubuntu1~ppa2 )
with ubuntu Intrepid and it's working with WEP, WPA2 and WPA2 (PEAP with
TKIP) encryptions.
I have WICD instead of NetworkManager but NM works perfectly.

Error happened when My CD-ROM was Reading 8.10 CD, So I cannot install 8.10
I do not think so that It is driver related:
I had this issue on Intrepid: my wireless connection always disconnected and
sometimes it reconnected automatically, sometimes it asked me my password (a
lot of times). I downgraded to network-manager 0.6.6 and I have no more problem.

Fails to find boot device in Intel D945Gnt
After reading the comments more carefully above, I did go to
Edit-Preferences-Composer Preferences and select a different language,
clicked OK and closed Evolution, then restarted it and again went to
Edit-Preferences-Composer Preferences and selected the language I

case when the keyboard stops working, no switching to VT and back gets
the keyboard working again in X/Kwin (I'm using Kubuntu 8.10). Mouse

In Kubuntu 8.10, my resolution is was automatically set to 1280x1024. I
changed it to 1152x864 by clicking the Display config under system
settings, but it reverted back to 1280 after reboot.
Following advice on kubunutforums.net, I tried this from Konsole:

Mike, I can confirm the 50 fps glxgears: just tried openSUSE 11.1 beta5
LiveCD, getting similar results.
Of course glxgears is not a good performance guide but in my case, the
relative framerate changes in glxgears are correlated to the relative
framerate changes in openarena timedemo when trying
