My worry with making the plugin disable itself is applications that
might be depending on that plugin being enabled to poll for new mail.

I use syncevolution (www.estamos.de/projects/SyncML) with a default
configuration to sync all contacts with egroupware (www.egroupware.org).
In egroupware I edit a new contact, fill all the main phonefields
(BusinessPhone,HomePhone,MobilePhone,BusinessFax) if I have no number
for a field I fill
Using an Ubuntu client: smbclient ignores case and gets the files
properly, mount.cifs ignores the case when changing the directory (cd
dokumente works), but seems to be case sensitive when trying to access a
file in a then non-existent path (dokumente/file doesn't exist, but
Dokumente/file would

Sorry, i saw two opened bugs that seem to represent my own problem ( the
vendor of the webcam is the same, and also the problem is similar) so I
can say that I'm not afflicted from this bug, but from those two.
So for me these bug can be closed
