I think there is indeed a bug, or a lack of a choice on the FTP protocol
being used. I have access to a server allowing ftp connections, but not
sftp ones. Then, from the command line I can, as reported here, access
the server without any issues. Nautilius (I think the problem is in

I have always had Subpixel ordering set to RGB, in conjunction with
full subpixel LCD smoothing. I have very consistently seen the bug occur
in QT based applications. It happens seemingly randomly, however: the
fonts will be fine one minute, then scrambled the next. I always run a
Gnome desktop.

I have this issue in a slightly different way.
every 'plong' sound 2 fifo's are opened, and not closed anymore. after a
while pidgin runs out of filedescriptors and crashes. the system runs
pulseaudio.

I should have read the hal dump before uploading it.

As the title indicates, aumix appears in the Xubuntu 9.04 menu, but I
think this menu item should be hidden, or else the application should
not be included in Xubuntu by default. I've attached a screenshot.

It says that it is already installed. To reproduce the problem, I purged
postgresql-8.3 package, checked dpkg status and files under lib, tried
to install postgresql-8.3 again. The result is the same. I am also
unable to run initdb manually. You can find session log in the
attachment.

As a workaround I rebuilt the package (as is - no changes/patches applied), and
it now works.
(ie. apt-get source pstoedit - apt-get build-dep pstoedit - dpkg-buildpackage
- dpkg -i).
pstoedit now has various 'plot-*' filters, in particular,

faumachine starts without problem though when using kde4.

Nope, sorry. I was just upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04 when it happened. I
was on a atom dual core 1.6GHz. Sometimes it feels a bit slow..
