I did fresh install on Jaunty and if i wasn't imagining things then i did this:
1.) X running in EXA (in default mode), alpha blending is correct, though
compiz is bit sluggish, glxgears ~195fps (compiz vsync off)
2.) Added AccelMethod UXA to xorg.conf, init.d/gdm stop/start, alpha blending

I have a Brother MFC9840 CDW printer with duplex printing capability.
This bug is appeared only when I have upgraded to Jaunty.
When you select DuplexNoTumble or DuplexTumble, the output is always like
DuplexNoTumble.

disabling visual effects solves the problem.
I guess my graphical card is not as good enough as to suppport compiz,
so gnome default, metacity, is the right choice.

Yes thanks again.I thought this problem may have happened when i
upgraded on the internet.Should have used the upgraded disc.If i do
upgrade to 9.04,should i upgrade from the internet,or get the disc,and
do u think it may fix my prob.?As u say ,it may be a system prob.all

I would like to test this on our ESX setup as we often see the
'Clocksource tsc unstable' warnings on these machines. Do you have a
test case to reliably repeat the issue? We get the warning sporadically
without any obvious pattern which makes testing the -proposed packages a
