After updating my system on 05/08/2009 my computer restarted to a
problem screen. The Nvidia drivers would no longer work. I rebooted
and chose the Kernel ending with 11 (the previous one) and my computer
booted fine. I am using the latest nvidia drivers from the nvidia

I have an ATI Technologies Inc RV630 [Radeon HD 2600XT] and was
experiencing the same problem.
I disabled RandR 1.2 and it seems to have fixed, or at least created a
workaround, for the issue. Perhaps it will give someone much smarter
than I am a chance to actually get to the bottom of the problem

I've run into this problem on the Microsoft FTP site. For example, when
I view ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/Products/mspress/samples using Firefox

Indeed, the author has gone the 'paid' route. Problem is it runs
flawlessly on all other Ubuntu's. Just 9.04 borks it, this suggests the
issue is with the OS and not the application. The coder has *not*
changed the app, but the OS has changed. Somewhere this is a Ubuntu bug
(or change) that breaks
Is this in their 0.4.2 branch.

Binary package hint: evolution
After upgrading to 9.04 I decided to give Evolution another try. My
email was working fine and I started adding events into the calendar.
After a few events Evolution locked up. After force quiting, it now
locks up at restart. When I try restart
Here is the patch to make all good in the world. Just toss it in the
debian/patches directory and echo "99_sftp_group_perm_check.patch" >>
debian/patches/series and volla!

Hi,
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad SL-300 and am having nearly identical symptoms.
My laptop has a 1440x900 resolution display but Gnome only detects a
1280x800 display. I still cannot get 1440x900 to display in Ubuntu.
