I'm getting a similar bug in Jaunty only. I just installed Jaunty for
the first time (new linux user) a few weeks ago...had this problem.
Reinstalled Hardy, the problem went away. Upgraded tooo Ibex,
and the problem stayed away. Now I've upgraded ttto (see?)

I have to run xsane with root privileges to get access to my scanner, other way
xsane detects only my usb PC webcam. I use ScanMagic 600 CP scanner connected
via parallel port.
I believe that occurs because libsane is not compiled with libieee12
I have this problem in version 9.04. However in order to fix it, I went
to appearance and changed the visual effects from extra to none and back
and the problem went away.

Hmm. I keep seeing related bugs added to this one and marked invalid,
when no one has addressed my question:
Should Notify-OSD follow the standard behavior (i.e suppress
notifications when a full-screen application is active)?

Hi pedro, I am on karmic alpha 1. This crash doesnt seem to set off
apport. Is there any way that I can debug the crash in terminal? When I
try to run yelp in terminal it prints out segmentation fault.
