Yes, the profiles are untouched since the system was installed. I never used
apparmor. The profiles certainly do not match what's on the machine, which can
cause problems *if and only if* apparmor should start. Yes, the mysql files are
in a location not configured not permitted by apparmor.
I forgot to mention but I had the same problem, I put Samba4 on thinking

samba4 and any other samba I could and then did a reinstall of samba via
synaptic. However this did NOT install the smbclient. I am puzzled by this
Smbclient is part of the standard Ubuntu or Xubuntu installation. If it
wasn't present you must have done something to cause its removal. While
SAMBA is not preinstalled as part of the standard Ubuntu or Xubuntu
installation, it is not necessary to browse Windows shares. Samba

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop
On Kubuntu 9.04 xdg-open and kde-open seem to be broken. On my machine
running KDE 4.2.4 (from PPA). Both kde-open and xdg-open throws:

The problem persists with any type of files(such as pdf, html)
