The following might help debug the problem:
dmesg shows that in fact the card IS detected during boot, the proper
modules -cdc_acm and cdc_wdm- load and create the appropriate comm
ports, but after a while the usb port is disconnected and ehci_hcd
appears unhappy.
I have noted that in kernel 2.27
I have some other applications I run that require me to stay on an LTS
version (like 6.06 or 8.04).

The behavior of the init script has changed for Ubuntu 9.10. It now
uses pkill to stop the process and udev will restart it for you.

So this behavior has changed that the init script no longer launches or
stops the daemon starting with Ubuntu 9.10, bluez version 4.45. Instead,
udev is responsible for that.

Resolved this by editing /etc/network/interfaces back to default.
Somehow something added auto ppp0 entries to the file. Simple fix for my
issue, don't know about the original reporter.

Okay, I've spent the day working with pmatulis on this bug.
We've been using the kvm-84 backport candidate from the ~ubuntu-virt
PPA.
On Jaunty and Karmic, I'm able to install WindowsXP using virt-manager
and libvirt without a problem.
On Hardy, I am not able to complete the installation using v
