hmmm killing compiz did the trick, too. It acts strange lately. The

This looks to be a problem with the binary build. I tried to debug this
problem using gdb. The source code for the package doesn't match the
plasma_applet_microblog.so and plasma_engine_microblog.so from the
binary packages. Manually building from source produces libraries that
work.

I uploaded the fixes for this into the compiz PPA. There is a feature
freeze exception request for compiz from the PPA to karmic pending. If
that is granted, the patch will automatically flow in, if not it needs
to get merged seperately again.

This is a first attempt to address the problem. As both cases have problems
with that order-6 allocation, lets try to avoid those allocations while the
module is loaded. So the patch I added to the test kernel keeps the largest
requested buffer until the module gets unloaded. The kernels are at

desktop components that currently (correctly) depend on evolution-data-

server-common, which doesn't actually contain anything other than a few
icons and glade files used by other components. It doesn't actually

Tried on a Jaunty 32-bit server and the problem disappeared. It is
apparent if the server is an NFS server on FC8, but I still have to
check again, because the FC8 server is firewalled and has fixed NFS
ports, and the other is still open.
