I am not sure, as I uninstalled atfptd to solve my issue in the short term.
I will try and reinstall and see if I can recreate the issue. What I have

I have Ubuntu 9.04 installed on this machine as well as a Toshiba Satellite
notebook. On both machines I tried to play the following 5 types of files:
1. mp3
2. ape
3. rmvb
4. avi
5 mkv
With both machines I was instructed to install extra plug-ins and I did
so. On the Toshiba notebook Totem
I found a workarround:
sudo iwconfig wlan0 power off
solved the No Probe response problem... Sometimes the ping is over 200ms,..
but the network is very stable now..
ping statistic to my router: 60 packets transmitted, 60 received, 0%
packet loss, time 59086ms

I agree this function should do more than warn you it will format the
whole drive.
The USB disk to use: window in USB Startup Disk Creator only shows
partitions and not the whole drive. By selecting a partition it should

On my system, this is because I have a different partition for /usr.
This causes the following line in /boot/grub/grub.cfg, in the header section

I was able to recreate the bug. I did a standard install of atftpd and then
went into /etc/default/atftpd and changed the first line
USE_INETD=true

This error has this time coincided with having changed a setting in
nvidia-settings with the result that Ubuntu is now workable together
with NVIDIA FOR THE FIRST TIME.

In Karmic there's the following rule:
