So, one solution is to just remove nouveau-kernel-source and then
install it again. I've managed to hit this, so it should be possible to
not register the same Nouveau version twice with dkms.

With todays updated the driver provided by proprietary-video-improvements PPA
is working fully w/ glx, xv and full use of compiz
Will hopefully be able to do a fresh A2 install next week and just use the

For the record, I tried hibernate-resume and received the same behavior
as happened with suspend-resume: blinking "sleep" LED and hard power-

Hi!
I do think the problem is in ~/.kde grants.
I installed Amarok using "sudo apt-get..." so that's the root
privileges in ~/.kde (Amarok is the first kde application I've used
before I've installed Gnome Karmik)
So, as Andrew said, I think it's an installation/packaging issue.

This was fixed by mounting the samba share at boot by adding it to /etc/fstab.

Power management change in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf doesn't help.
Changing pulseaudio to ffmpeg DOES help but still not quite listenable.

Sorry for the insane number of attachments; was following the
instructions at the wiki for reporting bugs and it recommended using the
apport-collect command ... did not realize it was going to go this all
out.
