As of karmic, network-manager is on the CD for those who wish to use it.
Network-manager is not installed by default, as it was found to cause
latency issues with audio recording in the past. Things may be different
now, but I wouldn't e surprised if the same issues occur with the latest

It was quite possible a hardware problem. I have not been able to use
the computer for a few months. When I get a chance to fix it I'll see
what I can do re testing but I will probably end up with Windows server.

I just had the same sort of problem after suspending my laptop and
walking across the office. ~80% cpu in the syncd and the rest of the
core was being taken up by the ubuntuone-client-applet.
It triggered a bug report, but when I said it was the same as this one,
i didn't get a copy of the text.

problem, but I'm posting to this report as it's the earliest and none of
the other reports seem to have got anywhere.)
I saw this behaviour in Karmic, and I am still seeing it in Lucid, on

Binary package hint: partman-base
When creating a raid array (with alternate cd or server cd) the lucid
partitioner creates some small unusable disk space for each partition. I have
not seen this in previous releases.
