This affects me as well. I have the Asus Eee PC 1005PE.
The manual workaround that some have discussed in forums doesn't seem to
work anymore. Manually selecting heaphones in sound preferences worked
for Karmic, but not Lucid. Cannot hear sound from headphones at all.

I found a temporary solution on ubuntu forums that worked for me.
if i type the following command in the terminal:
killall telepathy-butterfly
i then can go offline and back online, and empathy then connects fine
for me.

I don't send reports often as i should but i assume invalid means not real bug

i want a fix not a blank screen. i typed in command for the vesa just so th
stupid install would appear( i915.modset=0 xforcevesa ). it wouldn't show a

I closed the bug with Invalid since when running with the vesa driver,
this is expected since that driver has very limited capabilities. So the
problem cannot enable desktop effects when running with vesa driver is
not a real bug.

I'm affected by this also, but this workaround doesn't work for me, so

I'm sure this is related to Lucid crashing my Dell Latitude E6400. I
keep getting this error after it crashes.
The laptop works fine until I try to watch a video file, video online,
use skype, truecrypt, etc.

For the record, a poster on ubuntuforums mentions:
I've tried other Gnome 2.3 based distributions and occurs the same issue.
With Gnome 2.28 it doesn't occurs. Then ii seems a gnome 2.3 problem.
