I had to try a number of different things to get it going. It took
several hours. I don't entirely understand the way the host gets its IP
address. The kernel ipaddr=x.x.x.x option doesn't seem to work, it
always uses dhcp. I ended up using a dhcp server with a static IP for

That's because Samba and NFS no longer use SysV boot script, but Upstart
jobs. Thus, they are not detected even if they are installed. We need a
temporary fix in Lucid for that, possibly a ugly hack.
In the long term, though, that's going to be a problem: we need minimal
support for Upstart jobs,

strange. PIDFILE in /etc/init.d/spamassassin was as delivered in
package. however in /etc/default/spamassassin a different one was
specified. after setting it to the same file it now works. thanks.

It isn't clear yet if this is the same bug or not; many things could
cause a panel not to work. The HP Elitebook 2540p I have has an eDP
internal panel, which Ajax hadn't seen in the wild before at all. The
IBM x201 has been out a number of months longer, so it may have an LVDS
panel.

The above fix in /etc/default/acpi-support works for me for suspend.
However when the laptop goes to sleep, I must manually load and unload
the module. Is there a way that I can fix this also?
