I think its strange this bug has low prio because it means I cant use
gstreamer to watch recorded TV-shows AT ALL, in my case recorded by
mythbuntu. Of course there is the standard work around to use mplayer /
vlc...
It also means I cant edit recorded files using Pitivi, default video
tool in
gwibber no longer uses desktopcouch(in ubuntu 10.10) and if desktopcouch
is using 100cpu then the problem is somewhere else. lucid users can use

Could someone affected please try the attached patch to see if it helps

even if accounts results online, i can't see my contacts on the contact
list window. they can see me the most of the times but i only see gtalk
contacts, or msn contacs, or facebook contacts.. and i can't refresh in

This is just to confirm that I had the same problem with Padre on Ubuntu 10.10
(Maverick, 32Bit), with a fresh installation of all components.
The workaround to directly install wx-perl from CPAN helps.

Thanks for the response, but I'm a bit reluctant to venture into a
complete reinstall.
It doesn't seem as though the problem with update-manager AND
computer-janitor should be difficult.
AND I see from another forum that I'm not the only one experiencing
failure on both of these in 10.10.
